I have been looking at all the recent news about the tsunamis.
And i have a building regulation i that i would like to suggest is put in place for all areas with any dwellings close to water bodies. My idea, is actually quite simple to put in place, it involves having all buildings rotated at an angle so that there is always one corner of the building pointing toward the water body, rather than having a flat surface facing the oncoming water which would significantly weaken the structure, and encourage the building to shift of its foundation and float of adding to the danger. The corner of the building would actually act similar to the prow of a ship cutting through the oncoming water, and offering less resistance to the incoming force of the water.
