May be micro-organisms allow us to live and exist, maybe they are just useing us for a food source.
Like breeding cattle.
Why haven’t they killed us a long time ago?

having the ocasional culling of the heard, to keep the feed stock strong.
Operating and making decisions on our existance as a micro-organism, collective, working for the greater good of the collective. Highly intellegent and not only self-aware but aware of the food scorce and its needs and aware of what is out side it's food source.
